Can I get help if I've nowhere to live?

In many cases, your local council must find you somewhere to live. There are rules setting out when and how they must help you - see Will the council find me a home? But even if they won’t help you, there are other organisations, such as Shelter (link opens in new window), that can help you find somewhere to live.

What if I can't stay in my current home?

You don't have to be sleeping on the streets to be homeless. You may be entitled to get help to find somewhere to live (or to stay in your home), if you have a good reason for your current difficulties at home. Here we explain what those reasons could be.
